Spirit of Halloween, the country’s leading seasonal Halloween retailer, is devoted to bringing the fun and excitement of Halloween to children everywhere through its Spirit of Children program.
Launched in 2006, the program brings Halloween to hospitals and rehabilitation centers, bringing joy to kids who might not be able to experience Halloween like they would if they were home. Employees volunteer their time to bring Halloween celebrations to Rady Children’s – complete with costumes and décor – and help lead activities, such as pumpkin painting, costume parades and Halloween games. The goal? Offering a temporary escape for the young patients.
In addition to hosting Halloween celebrations, Spirit of Children raises money in stores and online at SpiritHalloween.com. All funds raised – 100 percent – go towards the Child Life Department at Rady Children’s. The Hospital has received nearly $60,000 from Spirit of Children during the past two years.
