When the Mountain View Unit was formed in 1999, we were a group of women who knew each other well and had served on various PTA and other school committees together. We were school board members, teachers, administrators and parents. Many of us wore more than one hat in our community, but we were all looking beyond involvement in our children’s school careers. We chose to continue our efforts and use our abilities on a broader plane.
Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary gave us the perfect opportunity to use the skills we had developed through years of volunteering, advocacy and fundraising. Now our unit includes many of our original members, now retired and new members still active in the local schools.
Children and their well-being are important to all of us, and Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary is one more way we can support our community’s children and youth.
