Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego

In June 2006, Ernest and Evelyn Rady and their family committed gifts of $60 million to the Hospital.  This was the largest gift in our history and one of the largest in San Diego history.  In recognition of the visionary philanthropy of the Rady family, Children’s Hospital was renamed Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego.

Donor-Advised Funds  

AJ's Kids Fund helps to provide toys and other supportive items to patients at Rady Children's.

Brooke Humphries Fund originally established by the Spanos Family to create the Field of Champions area where more than 49,000 outpatient orthopedic patients are seen annually. The Brooke Humphries Fund continues to support various programs and specialized technology, including Rady Children's Chaplaincy and Home Care programs.

CHIFund was created by a volunteer group to raise funds to ensure the best services, equipment and care will be provided for the patients of Rady Children's Heart Institute.

Down Syndrome Center Fund was created by DS Action, a volunteer group to raise funds to establish a Down Syndrome Center at Rady Children's.

Isabella's Gift Fund was created by the Zouvas family to help kids with cancer, in celebration of the life of Isabella Zouvas.  Funds are currently helping to provide chemotherapy sessions for children with little or no private medical insurance and to support the building efforts of the Hematology/Oncology wing in the new Acute Care Pavilion at Rady Children's.

Liam's Fund for Neurosurgery was created by a volunteer group to help children with brain ailments through the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment for the Neurosurgery Department at Rady Children's.

Peter and Ingrid Rubenacker Family Fund supports Psychosocial and Bereavement Programs, serving patients, parents and families at Rady Children’s.

The Vargas Family Donor Advised Fund was created to benefit the Sam S. and Rose Stein Emergency Care Center in support of programs, services and expansion plans at Rady Children's.

Wolfe Family Fund supports Pediatric Research, specifically clinical research studies at Rady Children’s.

In recognition of the visionary philanthropy of the Rady family, Children's Hospital was re-named Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego.
