Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego Hospital is proud of our ongoing partnership with McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. McCarthy is the general contractor for the new $260 million, 279,000-square-foot Acute Care Pavilion at Rady Children’s. The facility will house the 16-room Warren Family Surgical Center, 84 medical-surgical beds, a neonatal intensive care center, and the Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders – all to ensure that we will meet the needs of children in our community.
McCarthy’s work doesn’t stop on the job site; they are genuinely dedicated to Rady Children’s through their support of the annual Miracle Makers Gala, Charity Ball and Radiothon. Their philanthropic giving is highlighted by their continued participation in the annual Shamu & You Family Walk at SeaWorld. McCarthy employees are the proud captains of the Rady Children’s Hospital Construction Walk Team. They encourage their subcontractors and vendors to join their team and fundraise to support the Hospital’s greatest needs. The McCarthy team is consistently one of the largest and top fundraising teams, raising more than $33,000!
McCarthy employees feel deeply connected through their special visits to the Hospital. Members of the construction team distributed Rady Children’s Acute Care Pavilion coloring books designed by McCarthy. The employees visited with the patients and helped them to color a giant 8’ foot x 16’ foot sign of the new Pavilion.
