Local radio stations take to the airwaves to benefit patients at Rady Children’s Hospital
Eighth Annual “Change for Children” Event Set for April 30th to May 2nd
Don’t touch that dial! Rady Children’s Hospital’s “Change for Children” will take over the airwaves as personalities from seven Clear Channel radio stations: Channel 933, Star 94.1, New Country 95.7, 101 KGB, Rock 105.3, AM 600 KOGO and XTRA 1360AM man the microphones for 33 hours (April 30th, May 1st and 2nd) to help raise money to benefit Rady Children’s patients and families.
Listeners will hear compelling patient stories, live interviews and musical montages on the participating stations. Throughout the three days, Clear Channel stations will broadcast live from outside the Rose Pavilion at Rady Children’s Hospital, interviewing patients and urging San Diegans to pledge their support for the sole hospital in the San Diego area dedicated exclusively to pediatric healthcare. All of the proceeds raised during the Rady Children’s Hospital “Change for Children” event will stay in San Diego and go directly to programs and services provided by Rady Children’s.
This is the eighth year Clear Channel has teamed up with Rady Children’s Hospital to present a Radiothon – raising more than $4.5 million over the last seven years. Radio personalities from the seven Clear Channel stations will broadcast live from 5am to 7pm on Thursday and Friday and from 8am to 1pm on Saturday.
Listeners are urged to donate by calling 1-800-258-0007 during the event, by logging on to www.helpsdkids.org, or by stopping by the hospital (3020 Children’s Way, San Diego, CA 92123) to drop off a tax-deductible donation.
What a great way to help San Diego kids!
