La unidad Milagros fue fundada en el ano 2005 por Norma Yates y Laura Nava. La unidad se creo debido a la necesidad de colaborar y organizar a la comunidad hispana de San Diego para apoyar al Rady Chilldren's Hospital.
El primer ano reunimos a 40 damas para su membresia, se cumplieron todas las metas y objetivos anuales y se hizo el primer evento de Milagros para recabar fondos. Fue una degustacion de vinos y comidas en el Del Mar Plaza que con mucho exito logro la asistencia de mas de 500 personas y se recabaron aproximadamente $40,000 dolares para el departamento de Cardiologia del hospital. En los siguientes anos seguimos con este evento y en el ano 2010 se marco nuestro quinto aniversario y desde nuestro inicio a la fecha hemos recabado mas de $240,000 dolares para Cardiologia, Endocrinologia, Autismo y NICU (Departamento de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales) ademas de que se recibiera a traves de nuestra unidad un donativo especial llamado "Legacy" de aproximadamente $1.5 millones de dolares.

The Milagros unit was founded in 2005 by Norma Yates and Laura Nava. The idea came about due to the need to organize the San Diego hispanic community to colaborate and support Rady Children's Hospital.
In its first year of inception the unit begin with 40 ladies as part of its membership. All annual goals and objectives were met and the unit held its first event, a wine and food tasting and auction in Del Mar Plaza. The event was a great success with more than 500 people in attendance, raising $40,000 for the Cardiology Department.
Milagros continues to hold this sell out event, and in 2010 we marked our 5th anniversary. Since our first year we have contributed over $240,000 for Cardiology, Endocrinology, Autism and NICU. In addition, through the unit, the hospital received a Legacy gift valued at more than $1.5 million.
Milagros (miracles in english) has been and will continue to perform miracles!
